Abstract

450,701. Hair clippers. PEIRCE, F. D., 15, Fairfield Road, Ilford, Essex. Feb. 28, 1935, No. 6348. [Class 131] A tapered rod or bar b is secured to the side of the handle of an electrically driven hair-cutting machine and in use projects at right angles to the handle for the purpose of lifting a layer of hair preparatory to inserting a comb under the layer in the same manner as is usual in the cutting of hair with hand scissors. Preferably the bar is pivotally mounted and is folded back against the handle when not in use. In the form shown, the means of attachment consists of a strap a between the ends of which the bar is pivoted by a screw and nuts. An alternative means consists of a short post screwed, welded or braized to the handle. The outer end of the post has a slot in which the bar is pivoted.
