Abstract
449,832. Pipe-junction boxes. WILLMOTT, C. S., 283, Oxford Street, London. April 30, 1935, No. 12864. [Class 99 (i)] A junction box for a pipe line of a vacuum or suction cleaning installation is in the form of a hopper a with a welded-on &c. lid e, the hoppei having converging sides leading to a neck b to which an outlet pipe c is jointed by an external sleeve bl and the lid being provided with fixed sockets f, f<1> projecting therethrough to accommodate a plurality of adjustable inlet pipes d, d<1>. The inlet pipes d, d<1> are secured within the sockets f, f<1> by grub screws g, airtightness being effected by red lead &c. In a modification, the sockets f, f<1> are welded into the open end of the hopper in contact with one another, the lid e being dispensed with, and the upper edges of the front and rear walls a<1>, a<2> of the hopper are cut and folded into the space between the sockets and then welded to the latter.
