[Class 141] [See also Group XXV] A parachute harness comprises a pair of separate main straps each of which is intended to pass down one side of the wearer's body when the harness is in use, the lower end of each main strap being adapted to form a leg loop which is turned inwardly, and extends to a point adjacent the lower end of the side portion of the other main strap to enable the strap to pass under the near leg, and the loop to embrace the far leg of the wearer, and means for locating each loop portion in position relatively to the lower end of the side portion of the other main strap. In the form shown, the harness is secured to the outside of the detachable lining 11 of a flying suit, and each main strap is constituted by a pair of superposed lift webs 20, 21, and 30, 31, respectively, adapted to be attached at their upper ends to the shroud lines of a parachute, the side portions of the lift webs being adapted to slide freely relatively to the lining 11, and having their lower looped ends 200, 300, secured between the lining and patch pieces 201, 301. The looped portions 200, 300, are further secured in position relatively to the side portions of the lift webs by means of straps 20<*>, 30<*>, secured to the lining 11. The harness comprises also a waistband 25, a breast strap 29, and shoulder straps 27, 28, which are all secured to the lining, and in running connection with the lift webs 20, 30. The harness comprises further a rear strap 34, and side straps 37, 38, which are secured to the lining, and emerge from the flying suit at the crotch where thev are connected to a ring 42 or equivalent floor anchorage. In a modification, the harness may be worn separately. The ends of the breast strap 29 are secured together by means of a fastening comprising two separable interlocking links 32, 32<a>, Fig. 6, the link 32<a> including a T- sliaped projection 44. and the link 32 being formed with a slot 46 having a main portion which is smaller than the head 45 of the projection 44, communicating with a slot 48 through which the head 45 can be slid to separate or lock the links 32, 32<a>, together.
