Abstract

440,624. Brushes. LIVERPOOL PATENTS CO., Ltd., and HOPE, W. E., 16, Chapel Walks, Liverpool. July 31, 1935, No. 21751. [Class 19] Bristles 1 are fixed in stocks 5 by looping them through perforations 4 so that shanks 2, 3 protrude. The bristles are preferably threaded through adjacent perforations and are restrained from axial movement by a cap 6 which does not bear rigidly on the loop but solely forms an abutment to prevent the bristles being pushed through the holes 4. Brushes so made may be used for any purpose, particularly tube cleaning, being rotated on a flexible shaft. The cap 6 may be of larger diameter than the holder 5 to form a guide to the brush in tube work.
