Abstract

Mica, prior to its insertion into an electric discharge device, is heated to a temperature at which its thickness increases markedly and is then subjected to pressure so as to reduce its thickness. It is stoved in hydrogen, air or a vacuum at 800-1000 DEG C., for 1/2 -5 mins., the thickness increasing up to ten times the original value. It is then pressed, if desired after cooling.
