Abstract

439,022. Moulding wallboard in roller sheeting-machines. PARFITT, A. W., Stafford House, Norfolk Street, Strand, London. -(Gypsum, Lime, & Alabastine, Canada, Ltd. ; Paris, Ontario, Canada) June 11, 1935, No. 16793. [Class 87 (ii)] In moulding wallboard consisting of paper liners 3, 4 enclosing a quick-setting core of hydrated calcined gypsum, a square-edge board is formed between squeeze rolls 1, 2 and thereafter, while the core is still plastic, a taper is formed on the longitudinal margins of the board and is maintained until the core hardens. The board may be carried on an endless belt 5 supported by driving rolls 6 and rolls 7. Collars 8 are adjustably mounted on the rods 7 and have tapered portions which tilt the margins of the belt and so form and maintain the taper. Scoring devices for the lower liner are arranged closer together to avoid the taper.
