Abstract

435,728. Impregnated paper. DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO., E. I., Wilmington, Delaware, U.S.A. March 26, 1934, No. 795/35. Convention date, April 1, 1933. Divided application. [Classes 96 and 140] The invention differs from that of the original Specification in that the felt is impregnated with bituminous material or with a mixture of bituminous material and drying oil. In an example, the felt is impregnated with 100 parts of asphalt, 100 of naptha boiling at 137-140‹ C., and 40 at 195-210‹ C., and 40 of heat-bodied linseed oil with a drier, a solid lead-manganese resinate being used. In another example the felt is impregnated with blown asphalt and toluol. The asphalts may also comprise steam-refined asphalt, stearin pitches &c. and used as organic or aqueous dispersions, or melted. Specification 313,085, [Class 96], is referred to.
