[Class 78 (i)] Apparatus for feeding glass sheets to a conveyer comprises a support and a feeding conveyer, the support being adapted to turn from an approximately vertical receiving position to an approximately horizontal delivering position to transfer partly the weight of the glass to the feeding conveyer. As shown, a slat conveyer 1 to which the sheets of glass are to be fed is connected to drive a feeding conveyer comprising belts 4 passing over pulleys 5, 6 and supported by rollers 7. In front of the pulleys 5 is a pivotally mounted shaft 15 carrying arms 17 which are provided with blocks 18, each having a ledge 19 and rollers 20 on one face. The shaft 15 is provided with a disc 23 formed with four notches 24 adapted to be engaged by the end of a rod 25 to determine the position of the arms 17. The rod 25 at its lower end is connected to a counterweighted foot lever 27 to which is also connected a lever 32 provided with a side stop for the glass sheet. With the arms 17 in the position shown in Fig. 2, a sheet of glass is placed to rest on the lower ledge 19 against the rollers 20. To deliver the sheet to the conveyer the foot lever 27 is momentarily depressed and the arms 17 are turned about the axis of the shaft 15 until the rod 25 engages the next notch 24 on the disc 23. The sheet is then partly supported by the belts 4 which transfer it over an idle roller 22 to the conveyer 1. A further quarter turn of the arms 17 brings them again into position to receive a glass sheet, which this time rests on the opposite side of the blocks 18 to that used with the first sheet.
