Abstract

433,851. Safety razors. SIEGEL, E., 261, Broadway, New York, U.S.A. Nov. 20, 1933, No. 28933. [Class 30] The blade holder and end cap are so shaped that when the blade is clamped in position it is bent into a surface having a straight line generatrix, or, as shown in Fig. 13, the halves of the blade assume such shapes, which in this case form part of the surface of two opposed cones. Preferably the blade lies on the surface of a cone with the cutting edge in a generatrix and lying obliquely to a plane perpendicular to the handle. The blade is slotted as shown in Figs. 6 and 13, and the holder has corresponding ridges, the end caps being recessed. One pear-shaped slot may be used instead of the three slots shown. The cutting edges are inclined at an angle of at least 5‹ to the centre line of the positioning slot, preferably at about 10‹.
