Abstract

433,044. Sliding seats. CHAPMAN, A. W., 115, Howards Lane, Putney, London. Feb. 3, 1934, No. 3610. [Class 52 (ii)] In sliding-seat mechanism, pairs of relatively fixed and rotatable members such as racks 7 and pinions 9 are housed within box-like compartments formed by the pairs of cooperating members 1, 3 secured to the seat and floor respectively. The pinions are journalled in the slide members 1 and linked by a tubular shaft 11 to prevent twisting of the seat, and the racks 7 are secured to the floor slide members 3. The slide members may be of the type described in Specifications 327,747, [Class 52 (ii)], 379,902, and 405,954. Locking means such as that described in Specification 384,595 may be provided. Winding mechanism for adjustment may be connected to the rotatable shaft.
