430,647. Type-making machines. PIERPONT, F. H., Oakfield, Redhill, Surrey, and MONOTYPE CORPORATION, Ltd., 43, Fetter Lane, London. March 19, 1935, No. 8546. [Class 100 (iii)] Galley - mechanism.-The auxiliary device, described in Specification 11322/14, [Class 100 (iii)], for returning the type-line support after the delivery to the galley of a line of greater than normal length, is operated by a spring motor having means for varying its power, instead of by a weight. The slide 19, by which the line support 5 is returned, is coupled by a chain, cord, &c. B to a spring drum A. The power of the spring can be varied by securing the chain at different points around the periphery of the drum.
