[Class 110 (ii)] A rotary compressor or pump comprises an eccentric rotor r, in a chamber b4 which is pressed axially by a spring d, and which is pressed radially by a spring c<3> and by centrifugal force. An inner portion r<3> of the rotor has a slot r<4> in which slides a squared portion c<2> of the driving shaft c. A ring r<2> is pressed outwards by the spring c<3>. The sliding abutment e engages an adjustable stop e<3> to limit its movement outwards. An inlet port b<2> and outlet ports b<8>, b<3>, are provided. The casing has cleaning or drain holes b<7>. A lubricant-retaining ring a<18> and a corrugated sleeve a<23> are provided at the driving end of the shaft c. A pump a<8> similar to the main pump, has an abutment a<13> bearing on a bush which is pressed axially by a spring a<12>. Oil is fed from chambers inside the walls a<2> to the pump, and delivered to ports in a ring a<21>. A ball bearing c<5> engages the flat end of a shaft c<6>.
