Abstract
429,556. Conductors. MEECH, J., 95, Mayow Road, Sydenham, London. Aug. 9, 1934, No. 23094. [Class 36] A conductor, more particularly for use as a fusible conductor in a fire detection installation, comprises a flat strip of inflammable flexible material to which is attached by adhesive a wire or strip of fusible alloy. Fig. 2 shows a paper strip 1 having an adhesive layer 2 to which is attached a strip 3 of fusible alloy. The portions of the adhesive layer extending beyond the strip 3 serve to secure the conductor to a support, such as a wall or picture rail. In modified constructions the strip 3 may be replaced by two parallel wires, or a second paper strip, narrower than the strip 1 may be applied over the strip 3 and stuck to the strip 1, whilst as shown in Fig. 7, the paper strip 1 is folded round the strip 3 and the overlapping portions are stuck together by the adhesive layer 2 so as to leave a portion of this layer uncovered for attaching the conductor to a support. The conductor may be woven into a carpet or be carried by curtain to form part of fire detection system.
