Abstract

<PICT:0428039/IV/1> <PICT:0428039/IV/2> Artificial filaments are obtained in a package form which allows uniform shrinkage to take place during wet treatment and drying, by collecting them in a centrifugal spinning pot, the inner wall of which has a sinuous contour. Alternatively, a lining having a sinuous contour, or spaced bars may be placed within a circular pot. As shown in Fig. 1, the inner wall of a spinning pot 1 has projections 2 which give it a sinuous contour. As shown in Fig. 3, a spinning pot 1 having an inner wall of circular section is provided with a sinuous lining 3. The recesses between adjacent projections are preferably of such a shape that the slope is more gradual in the direction of rotation of the pot. The device is particularly applicable to the production of viscose filaments.
