Abstract
422,928. Delivery apparatus. NATIONAL CASH REGISTER CO., Dayton, Ohio, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Anthony, J. F. ; 1452, Marlvoro Avenue, Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.) July 22, 1933, No. 20721. Convention date, July 22, 1932. Addition to 377,964. [Class 100 (i)] The machine described in the parent Specification for feeding, slitting and stacking multiple printed cheques, papers &c., is modified by the provision of automatic driving means for operating the mechanism for stacking the slit papers in sequential order. The driving means preferably comprises a one revolution clutch put into operation by the action of the device which feeds the cheques to the slitting - mechanism. The stacking mechanism, which moves on rods 120, 121, Fig. 4, and is constructed as in the parent Specification with a slide 119 carrying pushers 122, 123, and a retaining bail 133, is driven from an electric motor 33, Fig. 6, which also drives the slitting-mechanism. The slide 119 is operated by an oscillating lever 116 pivoted at 117 and fitted with a gear sector engaging a rack 115 on a spring-controlled slide 113, which is moved in one direction by a pin 110 fitted with a roller 111, which engages a cam projection on the slide. The slide 119 returns under the action of a spring 138 acting on an arm 140 carried by the lever 116. The pin 110 is driven by a one-revolution clutch of known kind which is thrown in by the action of a pivoted cam surface attached to a bar 73 which is fixed to the pushers which advance the cheques to the slitting-mechanism. This cam surface releases a lever 85 which normally holds a band clutch in inoperative position. In a modification, Fig. 9, the one-revolution clutch operates a closed cam 141 which reciprocates a pitman 145 attached to a rack 155 which oscillates the lever 116 positively in each direction of its motion.
