[Class 41] In apparatus for coating sound-records according to the parent Specification, the record 17 is clamped to a hollow plate 14 traversed by cooling fluid; the plate is hinged to form the cover of the container 10. The cathode consists of gold mounted on a glass disc 23 supported by insulators 24. The anode consists of an annular rod or loop 19 mounted on insulators 20 on the same side of the record as the cathode The above arrangements permits the size of the container to be reduced and the time of evacuation thereby shortened. The container is mounted on a frame 12 together with the electrical supply and exhausting-apparatus. Specification 388,431, [Group XXXVIII], also is referred to.
