[Class 104 (iii)] In a carbon bow collector, the contact piece a and its central mounting b have a common axis SL passing through the centres of gravity SO. The mounting b is rigidly connected at both ends with the end pieces d by means of screwed pins c, and the end pieces d are connected by a tension rod h. The mounting b may be pressed into the carbon, or it may be placed therein, and the space between them filled with a casting material i, as shown in Figs. 8 and 10.
