422,481. Television. ELECTRIC & MUSICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd., Blyth Road, Hayes, Middlesex, CORK, E. C., 53, Stoneleigh Drive, Worcester Park, and MANIFOLD, M. BOWMAN-, Heathcot, Worplesdon Station, both in Surrey. July 12, 1933, No. 19763. [Class 40 (iii)] A synchronizing signal of sinusoidal form modulates a carrier oscillation 22 which is fed, together with the picture signals, to a single transmission channel 26. The carrier oscillation is above the highest frequency in the picture signals, together with which it modulates a carrier 24. An oscillation at line frequency is produced by light from scanning mirrors 8 passing through a sinusoidal opening 13 to a cell 14, and an oscillation at the frame frequency is produced by a generator 19 on the shaft driving a kinematograph film 1. At the receiver the carrier wave of the synchronizing signals is selected by a filter, and a detector obtains the two synchronizing signals which are separated by a filter to control respective generators of saw-tooth oscillations, Fig. 2 (not shown).
