421,855. Tea manufacture. GARLICK, G., Ratabari Post Office, Sylhet, Assam, India. Nov. 21, 1933, No. 32490. Convention date, Nov. 21, 1932. [Class 129] Dried or fired tea leaf in the final stages of manufacture is cut without fraying or loss of bloom, by feeding it between two oppositely rotating rollers 1, 4, the roller 1 being smooth and the roller 4 having annular teeth. The roller 4 is rotated more rapidly than the roller 1. The teeth 9 of the roller 4 may be made by cutting its periphery, or by forming the roller of separate discs as in Fig. 3.
