[Class 109] [See also Group VII] A band for ornamental or other purposes comprises a carrier element a in the form of a flattened split metal hose and one or more ornamental inserts e which are secured to the carrier element by inwardly bent edges d. If desired the edges d may be bent further in the direction of the base of the carrier to engage elements loosely arranged therein. The ornamental portion may be made of metal, precious wood, leather, artificial horn, celluloid, glass, ornamental stone, silk, fabric or plaited metal. The band may be used for making bracelets and necklets.
