Abstract
421,472. Cake - stands. WIGGIN, W. C. B., Lynton, Stafford Road, Bloxwich, Staffordshire. June 19, 1933, No. 17392. [Class 52 (v)] In a folding cake-stand of the type in which the uprights A, B, C have inwardly extending arms a<2>, b<2>, c<2> pivotally connected at their inner ends to support plates within the confines of the uprights, the pivotal connections are such as to allow the uprights with the arms to fold together into closely adjacent parallel planes. The arms b' are welded to the under surface of a small metal disc D' and the arms a<2>, c<2> are cranked at their inner ends and pivoted to the disc D<1> by rivets d, e. The handle portions a', b<1>, c' and the other arms are similarly connected together but for one set of arms a<3>, b<3>, c<3> the disc D<3>, Fig. 8, is larger and has a downward flange f with notches g into which the arms a<3>, c<3> may snap to locate them in their opened out positions. A spring plate h bears up against the arms a<3>, c' to retain them in the notches. A portion f of the flange f is extended to form a stop limiting the opening of the arms a<3>, c'.
