Abstract
420,932. Animal traps. CATTANACH, D., The Lodge, Kingussie, Invernessshire. Sept. 30, 1933, No. 26938. [Class 5 (i)] A vermin trapping appliance comprises a closed box or chamber, the floor 5 of which is supported upon legs 11 or other supports at a distance above the ground or surface upon which it is to be placed, a hole 12 being provided in the floor 5 of such a size that the animal to be caught can pass its head but not its body through it and a spring trap 13 being arranged above the hole and within the box and having a trigger 14 so situated that the animal can just touch bait on the trigger to release the trap. The box comprises a sliding front 6 which may be locked in closed position by utilizing holes 9, 10 ; additional holes 16 serve for the passage of odour from the bait. Additional bait may be inserted in a slot 15. More than one trap 13, fixed to the back of the box or to a partition therein, may be employed, each trap being arranged above hole 12 in the bottom of the box. The trap 13 may be of the spring-jaw or throw-over type. According to the Provisional Specification, a hinged door may be provided.
