420,505. Freezing liquids. SOC. ANON. HOLDING CO. INTERNATIONALE DU CITO GEL, Luxemburg. Feb. 22, 1933, No. 5439. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Feb. 19, 1934]. [Class 29] Milk, fruit juices, wine, beer and other liquids of organic origin are frozen into the form of solid blocks by freezing successive thin layers of the liquid, which may be sprayed on to fixed or movable cold surfaces, such as open vessels or endless belts or drums. The freezing should be rapid and the application of the liquid may be interrupted to allow each layer to solidify completely.- The blocks may be formed in the vessels in which they are to be stored in frozen condition, and the freezing may take place in a cold atmosphere or with the application of a current of cold air to the freezing surfaces. The liquids may be exposed to ultra violet rays during the freezing, and the blocks may be stored in packages containing carbon dioxide ice.
