Abstract

417,900. Trays and waiters. SANDLAND, R., Old Grey Mare Hotel, Clifton, Yorkshire. Nov. 2, 1933, No. 30449. [Class 128.] A waiters' tray is provided with a fixed or detachable frame D containing an absorbent material C such as sponge rubber having a ribbed surface upon which the bottoms of glasses containing beverage are wiped before serving. The frame D may be made of metal or hard rubber and is secured to the rim B of the tray by clips E and a distance piece F, or a moulding may be used fitting over the edge of the tray. A space L between the absorbent and the frame is provided to allow the liquid to drain into the tray. Advertising matter may be attached to the frame.
