Abstract

The ageing of rubber or the like is retarded by the addition to the mix of a secondary mono-amine having two substituents consisting of two distinct but directly connected aromatic ring structures. Examples of such compounds are di (biphenyl) amine, biphenyl bitolyl amine, These and related compounds are obtained by well known methods, thus di (biphenyl) amine is prepared by condensing parahydroxy biphenyl with para amino biphenyl.
