Abstract

415,494. Combing-machine leathers. FOULDS, G. C., (trading as FOULDS & SON, I.), Park Side Tannery, Keighley, Yorkshire. March 14, 1933, No. 7668. [Class 120 (i).] Compound leather belts or aprons for combing and like machines and which are operated by fluted rollers are formed by assembling half belts a, b, Figs. 1 and 3, having scarfed joints a<1> a<2>, b<1> b<2> long enough to withstand the reverse bending actions of the fluted rollers, the leading edges b<1>, a<2> being arranged inside the compound belt. The joints are cemented or stitched while the single belt members a, b are similarly secured together. Three or more thicknesses of leather may be used if desired.
