[Class 106 (i).] In an apparatus for delivering tokens for facilitating and checking purchases such as is described in Specification 380,961, comprising a token holder 2, Fig. 2, having apertures 3 within which the tokens are contained, the holder being covered on its upper and lower surfaces with sheets 31, 3<11> of paper or other piercable material so that the tokens may be individually liberated by a suitable instrument, and the tokens after liberation being led to a trap 8 in which they are visible and from which they are adapted to be delivered to the outside of the apparatus, the delivery of the tokens is effected by a member which engages directly with the token to be delivered. The tokens may be shaped as balls, cubes, cones, cylinders, rods &c., the shape and/or the colour of the token indicating its purchasing value. The tokens, after having been punched from the holder, roll down a plate 7 and are fed one at a time to the trap by a pair of staggered shutters 30, 31 that shield the entrance 9 to the trap and are carried by a shaft 17 rockable by a handle 18. The token 41, Fig. 9, passes from the opening 9 into the trap where it is positioned in front of an impelling member 25 rigid with a slide 21, the slide being oscillated by an arm 16 of the shaft 17 to propel the token over a protuberance 11 into position to fall out of an orifice 14 into a cup or tray. The shutters 30, 31 may be dispensed with and a second token 40 permitted to become visible prior to the ejection of the first. The apparatus may be coin controlled.
