Abstract

413,734. Making bottle stoppers. FRASER, W. P., and FRASER & GLASS, Ltd., Assembly Works, Woodside Lane, North Finchley, London. Jan. 23, 1933, No. 2100. [Class 125 (iii).] Screw-stoppers for bottles &c. are moulded from condensation products of phenol and formaldehyde in heated moulding, elements to form a hollow shell 1, having a circular ridge 3 at the top. A disc 11 of metal &c. is then placed within the ridge to rest on the shoulder 5. The ridge is now turned inwardly to secure the disc, by the application of heat and pressure. A disc of paper &c. may be inserted under the disc 11, or a small quantity of rubber solution &c. may be applied to the shoulder 5, before the disc is inserted. The shell 1 may be annealed before the disc is applied thereto.
