Abstract

412,654. Domestic fenders. HOGG, W., 4, Springfield Crescent, West Bromwich. Jan. 19, 1933, No. 1743. [Class 126.] The socket member 6 in which the sections 5 of an extensible fender slide is formed by a sheet metal member 7 of U-section the ends of which are bridged by a strip 8 of wood or the like which forms the top wall of the socket. The front and top faces of the socket are covered by ornamental sheet-metal 10, and ornamental castings 11 are fixed over the inclined ends of the strip 8. A strip of baize 9 is fixed to the underside of the strip 8 and extends round the top and front inner faces of the socket, the ends of the baize being turned over the edges of the socket and held beneath the outer covering member. The parts are secured by screws 14 passing through slots 15 in the member 6. In a modification, similar sockets are formed on the end members to receive the ends of a front bar member.
