Abstract
412,447. Tobacco pipes; cigar and cigarette holders. BERL, M., 1B, Lowengasse, and EPSTEIN, J., 4, Ghelengasse, both in Vienna. Sept. 8, 1933, No. 24917. Convention date, Sept. 8, 1932. [Class 130.] Nicotine is absorbed from tobacco smoke by means of an insertion comprising a closed hollow container made of rigid porous material and filled with water or other liquid and so arranged within a pipe or a cigar &c. holder that the smoke passes over the moist surface of the container. In one form, Fig. 1, a smoke bore 1 passes through the container 2, which is closed by a stopper 3. In a modification, Figs. 5 and 6, a sinuous smoke passage 7 is provided between a pair of containers 8, 9. In a further form, Fig. 9, smoke passages are formed between the wall 11 of the cigarette holder and the ribbed exterior 4 of the container 5. The liquid in the container may include perfumes or medicaments.
