Abstract

408,087. Regulating the warp tension in looms. CAMPS, J. P., 80, Colomer Street Sabadell, Spain. Feb. 28, 1933, No. 6019. [Classes 142 (i) and 142 (ii).] In a device for slackening the warp threads when the shuttle remains in the shed, the swell lever normally acting against a bowl 39 rocks a lever 43, but fails to do this if the shuttle is not boxed. A part 43b on the lever 43 thereupon remains in such a position that at the beat up it rocks a spring-controlled lever 1 and operates a push rod 6, which has a spring controlled sliding piece 10 connected by links 13 to a lever 16. The serrated end of the rod 6 then engages and rocks the lever 16, which is connected to a bracket 18 carrying the upper back roll or tube 19. The warp threads which pass over this roll &c. and over a roll &c. 20 are thus slackened. The bracket 18 is adjustably connected by a spring 21 to an arm 17 fixed to a sleeve in which the spindle 50 of the roll &c. 20 is rotatable. The arm 17 coacts with a stop 18<a> on the bracket 18 and its weight tensions the warp threads. As the warp tension varies, the bracket 18 and lever 16 rock, the connecting rods 13 and part 10 sliding on the push rod and preventing this from dropping so that it is always ready for actuation by the lever 1. The arm 17 and its sleeve are also rocked as the warp tension varies, a lever fixed to the sleeve controlling unwinding mechanism, this lever functioning similarly to the lever K described in Specification 392,739. Stop-motions.-The lever 43 controls parts 44, 46 whereby the ordinary stop lever is actuated as described in Specification 396,518.
