Abstract

406,826. Implements for working land. BAWDEN, R., Plough Works, South Molton, Devon. Nov. 22, 1932, No. 33002. [Class 6 (i).] In connection with tractor attachments, such as described in Specification 212,672, [Class 6 (i)], for lifting trailed turnwrest ploughs &c., a shifting coupling is provided between the lifting chain and the rear end of the implement which automatically changes the point of connection of the chain with the implement when the chain is slackened, so that the pull of the chain in raising the implement tends to reverse it. The coupling comprises a transverse bar 1 on the rear end of the implement on which a link 4 of the lifting chain 3 slides freely from a notch 5 at one end to a notch 6 at the other when the chain 3 is slackened on lowering the implement. A cross-bar divides the link 4 into two parts. The lifting mechanism is so arranged that by operating a hand-lever near the driver's seat the forward end of the implement may be adjusted vertically and raised out of the ground.
