Abstract

405,567. Loading vehicles; conveyers; road-scavengering. EBERHAHD, A., 3a, Kohlstrasse, Munich, Germany. Aug. 18, 1933, No. 23108. [Classes 78 (i) and 78 (iv).] A self-propelled vehicle for picking up snow, sand, &c. is fitted with a body 5 or platform movable to the rear for unloading, and with a removable scraper-and-trough conveyer 13 which extends over the body and down over the front of the vehicle. The front part of the conveyer is adjustable from the driver's seat about a hinge 21., and the conveyor is actuated and the vehicle body moved backwards or forwards by power from the vehicle motor under control by clutches operated from the driver's seat. As shown, the body 5 is of box type divided into compartments 4. The body is movable on rollers by gearing engaging in a rack or racks 6, and is provided with a hinged floor or flaps which fall open when moved rearwardly. The front part of the conveyer is adjusted by hand-gear 24, 23, 22. The conveyer comprises plates 19 hinged on the chains with limited angular movement and working in a trough which is provided at the front end with diverging wings 18<1>.
