[Classes 21 and 125 (ii).] The unauthorized filling of small, unit capacity, portable or, of larger non-portable containers with gasoline, lubricating-oil, &c. is prevented by providing a filling inlet 40, Fig. 2 and a filling nozzle 36 of flat hollow type and of complementary shape so that the receptacle can only be filled when these two complementary parts are brought together, the contacting surfaces being pressed together by rotating a cam 39 by means of a handle. The filling inlet is integral with a pouring spout 30 containing a baffle plate 44 and flap valves 46 to prevent unauthorized filling, the spout being secured, in the example shown, to a glass unit container 18 by an expansible ring 32 engaging grooves in the neck and pouring head. A valve 35 prevents egress through the filling opening. The filling nozzle contains a spring-pressed ball valve 49, the movement of which during closing withdraws the fluid from the opening 36a to prevent drip, the opening 41 being conical to facilitate the breaking of the liquid column therein. More than one filling inlet and nozzle may be used. In the form shown in Fig. 5 a wedge-shaped filling inlet 53 projecting from the container is embraced by a filling nozzle 57 which is held by a cam 62. A drip chamber 63 is connected by a conduit 64 to a reservoir. In emptying, in both forms, the inlet opening serve as vents. Specification 395,888 is referred to.
