Abstract
403,494. Wringers. ACME WRINGERS, Ltd., and BURT, J. W., 97, David Street, Bridgeton, Glasgow. Oct. 1, 1932, No. 27302. [Class 138 (ii).] In a wringer wherein the lower roller 2 is provided with a sheet metal housing 3, 4, of which the lower wall comprises a flap 5 pivoted on an axis 6 parallel to the rollers, to discharge to either side, in order to ensure that such discharge shall be centralised the flap is made U-shape in longitudinal vertical section and the lower edges of the side walls 3, 4 are shaped to correspond. Such lower edges may be beaded as at 3<2>, 4<2> and engage longitudinal recesses 3<1>, 41 in the flap. The flap is provided along its edges with flanges 8 which stop short of the central portion. Locking pins 9 or catches may be provided for holding the flap in either extreme inclined position. Pockets 12 having inclined bases are provided beneath the ends of the lower roller, and the side walls thereof are nipped between the walls 3, 4 and the vertical flanges 14 of the roller bars 15 overhanging the upper edges of the walls 3, 4.
