[Class 39 (i).] The cooling of liquid-or air-cooled valves is facilitated by the provision on the external surface of the envelope of a plurality of needleshaped fins. The fins may be formed of material which is different from or is the same as that of the envelope and they may be integral with the envelope or formed on a member separate therefrom.
