402,798. Vehicle suspensions. KONIG, G., 61, Podbielski-Allee, Dahlem, and SCHULZ, H., 5, Rueckerstrasse, Coepenik, both in Berlin. May 6, 1932, No. 13155. Convention date, May 6, 1931. [Classes 108 (ii) and 108 (iii).] Vertical supports 5, 6 pivoted on the wheel axles of a vehicle are hingedly connected at their upper ends to supporting-springs, by laminated or helical springs, and at their lower ends to one end of rods 15, 16 directed towards the transverse axis through the centre of gravity 4 of the vehicle at normal loading and hinged at the other end to the vehicle frame 3, the upper ends of the supports 15, 16 being in or above the horizontal plane through-the centre of gravity 4. The laminated springs 7 shown are suspended from upwardly and slightly outwardly directed carriers 9, 10 in the vehicle frame and the rods may be connected to the frame 3 and the supports 5, 6 by ball- and-socket joints. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also other means for enabling the vehicle to oscillate about a transverse axis. The inclined radius rods 27, Fig. 4 (Cancelled), connect the frame with the wheel-axle carrier 26 but the frame 25 is supported by shackles 29 from laminated springs 28 mounted on the carrier 26. The shackles may be slidable on bolts 31 mounted in double bearings 32 fixed to the vehicle frame. Fig. 5a (Cancelled) shows another method of connecting the shackles 37 of the spring 40 to the frame, each shackle being mounted between two arms 35 of a lever, the boss of which is mounted on a vertical pivot 36 within a depending bracket 34 on the frame. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
