Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Feb. 25, 1932]. [Class 94 (i).] A wrapping-machine is characterised by a conveying device, e.g. an endless chain 4, for the article to be wrapped, and a number of folding means for different modes of packing adapted to cooperate with the conveyor so that different modes of packing may selectively be carried out on the one machine by removing from the machine those folding mechanisms not required or throwing them out of gear. In one mode of packing, shown in Fig. 5, the chocolate &c. 25, on a wrapper 26, fed to the machine by a transversely reciprocating clip, is lowered by mechanism 27, 28 into the open jaws 9, 10 of a link on the intermittently moved conveyor chain 4. The jaw 10 is then released by a nosed lever 24 and moves under spring action to grip the partly wrapped article. A tucker 33, 34 folds in one upstanding portion of the wrapper and the other is folded over by a stationary bridge piece 35 during motion under the same. Side folding members 36, 38 and an electrically heated pressing element 39 then complete the package which is ejected transversely by a pusher on to a delivery channel. Other products, all of which are stated to be known per se, of different series of detachable or disconnectable folding members are shown, with the sequence of folding steps &c., in Figs. 7, 14 and 19, the latter form incorporating a securing label 66.
