Synthetic Leather, Interior Materials Or Flexible Sheet Materials
(AREA)
Abstract
Vegetable or like fibre is formed into a fleece so that the individual fibres are as free as possible from parallelism, a plurality of fleece layers is laid in zig-zag formation on one another, wetted and compressed, sprayed with a coloured rubber emulsion, dried and vulcanized. The fleece layers may be arranged on one another on a reciprocating table or by winding to and fro on a calendar roller to the desired thickness. The material is a substitute for leather such as deer skin and may be used as washing leather, for packing material for bookbinding, or, in view of its heat and sound insulating properties, for wall facing.
