Abstract
400,502. Waterproofing; felts of paper-- making machines. ASTEN, E. VON, Hauset, Belgium. March 20, 1933, No. 8353. Convention date, April 30, 1932. [Classes 96 and 140.] A wet felt or drier felt for paper-making machines &c. comprises a textile fabric impregnated with rubber latex &c. in such a manner that part or all of the pores in the fibres and threads are closed whilst those of the fabric, i.e. the interstices between the threads, remain open. The felt thus dries quickly and is protected against deterioration by acids, lyes, heat, &c. or mechanical injury. The latex may be applied to the felt, or to threads or fibres from which it is made.
