Abstract
398,835. Distributers for manures, seeds, &c. BRYAN, J., Hayden Villa, Staverton, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. March 16, 1932, No. 7870. [Class 6 (i).] In a distributing- machine comprising a hopper 1 mounted on road wheels 5 and provided with a comb-like agitator 7 extending across the full width of the inclined bottom of the hopper with its teeth extending through an adjustable delivery opening 6 at the rear, the agitator is carried by a bar 8 disposed in front of and sealing a slot 6a at the base of the front wall of the hopper, and is driven by a connecting- rod 10 and an eccentric or crank operated by gear wheels 13, 14 driven from one of the wheels 5 and disposed in front of the hopper, the size of the delivery opening 6 being adjusted by moving the rear wall of the hopper. The agitator 7 is inserted through the slot 6a and held in place by slidably mounted clips 26. The rear hopper wall is adjustable vertically by means of a pivoted lever 24 secured by a bolt 25 and a wing nut. Provision may be made for varying the width of the tips of the teeth of the agitator 7. A seed tube may be provided between each pair of teeth.
