Abstract

397,360. Metal pipes. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AKTIEBOLAGET, Vasteras, Sweden. Dec. 21, 1932, No. 36168. Convention date, June 9. [Class 99 (ii).] An iron pipe of non- circular section is provided with gills in the form of threaded-on washers which are stamped out from eheet iron and are stiffened by bending-over their edges 4, Fig. 1, or by pressed-out ribs, Fig. 4, which extend in a direction substantially perpendicular to the weakest section of the washers. The washers are secured on the base pipe by spring collars 3 which are formed around their inner edges, the pipe being provided, if desired, with one or more longitudinal dents which are expanded against the washers by a mandril forced therethrough. Specification 397,358, [Group XIII], is referred to.
