Abstract

396,573. Floors. DECOURT, R. P. J., 34, Rue de Miromesnil, Paris. Sept. 27, 1932, No. 26862. Convention date, Sept. 10. [Class 20 (iv).] Floors are formed of bent sheet metal elements laid side by side over the span, each element comprising a central rib 1 of triangular form with the base of the triangle lowermost, and two flanges 2 which may have a lip 3. The elements are connected by clips 4 and are welded at the joints to produce a continuous upper surface. Stiffening frames 5 may be welded inside. In a modification, shown in Fig. 3, the floor consists of alternate upper and lower elements, and the ceiling is attached to sound-deadening tenons 11. In another modification, Fig. 4, the elements consist of two portions 21, 22 and a lower plate 1 welded together. The flooring may be blocks laid on sound-deadening material, and the ceiling of plastic material applied to wire lattice 81 which may be hung from the frames 5. The ends of the elements may rest on the flanges of inverted U-shaped wall plates 12 also formed of sheet metal. The hollow floor may be used for warming or cooling, and may accommodate pipes 9, 10.
