Abstract

394,715. Impedance networks. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., Marconi House, Strand, London, GRIFFITHS, H. V., Newport, Great Baddow, and WILSON, W. P., 42, Vicarage Road, Chelmsford, both in Essex. Jan. 2, 1932, No. 145. [Class 40 (iii).] For adjustably attenuating oscillations, such as those passing from one of a number of direction-finding aerials AL to a common receiver R, one or more lattice sections composed of adjustable ohmic resistances R1, R2 are employed. They can be short-circuited by means of keys K. The resistances are arranged physically in the same relative positions as .those shown in the diagram. A series of such lattice sections may be employed, each being enclosed in a screening box, with bushed openings for the passage of connecting leads. It is shown that the arrangement avoids reflection and self-capacity effects.
