[Class 98 (i).] In a process for producing a series of photographs of the same or different subjects grouped together on a single sheet of sensitive material, the negatives are obtained under identical conditions and are assembled in a holder for copying by projection. In carrying out the copying process the negatives are mounted on an opaque mat 52, Fig. 13, having apertures 57 corresponding in size to the negatives, and the mat is placed in a holder, 30, Fig. 3, between a lamphouse and a projecting lens 31, the negatives being projected on to a sheet of sensitive material mounted on a copyboard 62. Diffusing screens 29 are arranged between the lamps 23 and the negatives, and a frame 67 carrying vignettes may be arranged in front of the copyboard 62. The apparatus is carried by a base 21 on which the lens and copyboard are adjustable for focusing, and the lens is also vertically adjustable in its holder. A timing device 72 for producing a series of uniform prints is carried by the lamphouse and consists of a drum 75, Fig. 20, driven by an electric motor 77 and having circumferential rows of perforations co-operating with a nose on a switch arm 73 so that the switch 78, 79 is opened each time the nose enters a perforation. The switch controls the lamps 23 and the electric motor 77. The negatives may be produced on a single plate or film in a camera having mechanism for moving the plate holder horizontally in steps and vertically at the completion of each horizontal row.
