Abstract

391,294. Edge-runner mills. WINGET, Ltd., The Cape, Warwick, and MARTINEZ, H., 4, Stephendale Terrace, St. Peters, Newcastle-on-Tyne. March 9, 1932, No. 7088. [Class 59.] In an edge-runner mill which is discharged. by a hinged plough travelling around the pan, the means for changing over the discharge plough from its operative to its inoperative position and vice versa, comprises an operating hand-lever supported on a central column carried by and revolving with the head of the mill, the column being free to revolve in the supporting member. The discharge plough u which rotates with the head b is adapted to be lowered by a non-rotary hand-lever h to discharge the contents of the pan z through a discharge opening q<1>. The hand-lever h is provided with a split ring engaging in a groove of a rotatable sleeve k slidably mounted on a rod a. The extremity of the lever h is pivoted by a link f to non-rotatable ring e retained between rotatable collars d fixed to the shaft a. The sleeve k is connected by a link n to a crank p connected to a bent rod r which is connected by a link t to the plough arm v pivoted on a bar w. The end of the lever h is depressed along a guard y to lower the plough to its discharge position. The mixing ploughs w<1> are mounted on the rod wand a parallel rod w<2>. The runners c are offset from the axis and may be adjusted vertically.
