Abstract
387,791. Statistical apparatus. BROUGHAM, L. E., Brillig, Riddlesdown Avenue, Purley, Surrey. Nov. 27, 1931, No. 32976. [Class 106 (i).] Statistical cards.-A holder for perforated record strips G consists of a frame member having a series of windows B therein, adjacent to which are slots F to receive the strips. Two pieces of paper A of the size of standard statistical cards and with windows B are fastened together, with the interposition of the piece C, D so as to form the holder, shown in Fig. 3, which thus has slots F for the reception of the smaller perforated sales tickets G. These windows B permit the passage of the sensing elements of the machine through the strips G. Holes H are provided to expose the hole positions in tickets G which would normally be covered by the margins of windows B. One or both of pieces A, instead of having apertures B may be full cards with perforations for every hole position in the tickets G. According to the Provisional Specification, in some classes of work small statistical machines use correspondingly small record cards. Holders as above may be used to pass such small cards through the standard machines, which normally use larger cards.
