[Class 81 (i).] A fan, ventilator, blower, or the like of the type having a motor driving a fan and drawing air through a sheet of moistened absorbent material, the air then issuing around a vase-like structure adapted to hold flowers, comprises a casing 1 having an electric motor mounted at its lower end, its spindle 6 revolving in bearings 4, 8 carried by said casing. A spider 20 on said spindle carries fan blades 12 which rotate within a top structure 13 into which a conical member 16 extends downwardly, the blades being shaped to accommodate said member, the convex surface of which acts as an air deflector and the concave interior as a flower or liquid vessel or lamp reflector. A trough 10 for holding water, perfume, ice, disinfectant or the like is formed by the lower part of the structure 13, and a network 11 of absorbent material has one edge immersed in said trough, the remainder being spread to ensure evaporation of the liquid. The base 2 is divided into two or more dished sections between which tunnels 3 are formed for admission of air which passes between the arms 5 supporting the boss 4. A ball 7 or conical pivot is provided for the spindle 6. The brush gear of the motor may form part of the base 2 or casing 1, or be mounted on the former. Apertures 14 for emission of air are provided, the blades 12 having a screw-like form at the centre and extending outwards to a fin or blower form. The network 11 extends between the arms 9 and is held within the trough 10 by a ring 22. A heating element 17 may be provided. A perforated cover 19 is fitted when serving as a flower vase.
