Abstract

387,274. Boot-cleaning devices. STEINMETZ, S., 3, Iranyi Daniel Utca, Kispest, Hungary. Sept. 9, 1932, No. 25164. [Class 138 (i).] A door-mat comprises a corrugated base part 2 having flat troughs and preferably having beads or projections 12 on the crests, and a part 1 comprising side beams 3 connected by brush bars or cylindrical brushes 5<1>, 6<1>, 7<1> as cross members. The part carrying the brushes is placed over the base part, and the troughs of the corrugations serve to house the brushes and to collect the dirt while the projections 12 act as scrapers. The two parts of the mat may be articulated so that they may be folded for shipping.
