Abstract
385,587. Metal bowls. SORENSEN, C. C., 19, Nordre Frihavnsgade, Copenhagen. March 24, 1931, No. 8976. Convention date, May 12, 1930. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 66.] Sheet-metal bowls, such as fruit bowls of a substantially oval form, are formed from two equal members forming part of a hollow body of revolution, which are fastened along their edges. A semiellipsoid of revolution which may be produced by spinning is divided along the axis X-X, Fig. 1, the two halves A then being soldered along the semicircular edges B. In a modification, two equal semi-ellipsoids of revolution C, C, Fig. 4, are cut along a plane E parallel to the major axes the portions Y being removed and the remainder soldered along the circular edges D to form the bowl. A modified form is similarly formed from bodies F, Fig. 6. The finished bowl may be subjected to polishing and hammer-beating to render the soldering invisible.
